
ABOUT ALANA
Alana Wood
Alana Wood is a Forensic Psychologist with extensive experience working across correctional, clinical, and community-based settings in the Northern Territory and Queensland. Before returning to Queensland, Alana worked as a Senior Clinician with NT Correctional Services, where she provided offence-specific assessment and intervention to high-risk, high-harm, and complex needs offenders in custody and the community. Alana has experience in the treatment and risk management of individuals subject to the NT Serious Sex Offenders Act (2013).
Alana's career spans a broad range of forensic contexts — from conducting court-ordered psychological assessments for adult and youth justice clients, to facilitating intensive group-based treatment programs, and providing supervision to provisional psychologists and other clinical staff. She has provided training and clinical consultation to colleagues working within correctional and forensic settings. Alana is accredited in, and has experience administering, a number of structured professional judgement tools, including instruments to assess risk of violent and sexual reoffending.
Alana adopts a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to practice, with a strong commitment to working collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
