ABOUT JAMES
JAMES OGILVIE
Dr James Ogilvie is a psychologist with extensive experience in forensic assessment and intervention, particularly with young people who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviour. He brings over a decade of clinical practice from his work with the Griffith Youth Forensic Service (GYFS), where he specialised in delivering evidence-based assessment and treatment in both metropolitan and remote Indigenous communities.
Dr Ogilvie has a strong background in the assessment and treatment of youth who have committed sexual offences, with a focus on reducing reoffending and supporting community safety through collaborative, family- and systems-focused approaches. He is also a lecturer and researcher at Griffith University, where his work explores the intersection of mental illness and offending using large-scale linked datasets, as well as the development and evaluation of youth justice interventions.
With a dual focus on clinical excellence and research translation, Dr Ogilvie is committed to advancing evidence-based practice in forensic psychology.
